Consistent Image Quality
Normally during thoracoabdominal CT scanning, patients are asked to position their arms above their shoulders to avoid streak artifacts. However, in some cases, such as patients who had cranial surgery or patients with fractures, they are not able to comply with this requirement. Hence, the irregular arm position would induce significant streak artifacts, which would increase the possibility of misdiagnoses[1]. Dr. Zhang with his team in The Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University had tested our cutting-edged AIIR algorithm. They concluded that compared with hybrid iterative reconstruction (HIR), AIIR had the paramount ability to suppress the artifacts, and improve the contrast-to-noise ratios (CNR) of cysts in liver, kidney, and spleen. Thus, the misdiagnoses in this scenarios could be almost totally avoided by AIIR.
